Dr. Lawrence Kotlow Named ALSC Faculty, Fellow, and Honorary Member
The American Laser Study Club is proud to recognize Lawrence Kotlow, DDS, as a distinguished member of the ALSC community with three special designations: Faculty of the American Laser Study Club, Fellow of the American Laser Study Club, and Honorary Member of the American Laser Study Club.
This recognition is especially meaningful. Dr. Kotlow’s role with ALSC extends beyond fellowship alone. As an instructor, clinician, author, and one of the longtime leaders in pediatric laser dentistry and in the diagnosis and treatment of tethered oral tissues, Dr. Kotlow has helped shape many clinicians’ understanding of infant oral restrictions, laser frenectomy procedures, and multidisciplinary care.
In July 2026, Dr. Kotlow will serve as faculty for the upcoming SOS 4 RTOTs course in Albany, New York, where attendees will have the opportunity to learn from his decades of clinical experience in pediatric dentistry, tongue-ties, lip-ties, and restrictive tethered oral tissues.
About Dr. Kotlow
Lawrence Kotlow, DDS, is a board-certified pediatric dentist who has served children and families in the Capital District since 1974. An Albany native, Dr. Kotlow graduated from Albany High School, attended the Albany College of Pharmacy, and received early admission to the SUNY Buffalo School of Dentistry. He completed a two-year residency in pediatric dentistry at the Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, before returning to Albany to begin his career in pediatric dental care.
Dr. Kotlow earned board certification from the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 1980 and is a Diplomate of the Board. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.
Throughout his career, Dr. Kotlow has focused on providing compassionate, technology-forward oral care for children in a comfortable and supportive environment. He is widely recognized for his dedication to pediatric dentistry, laser dentistry education, and the clinical assessment and treatment of tongue-ties and other tethered oral tissues.
A Special ALSC Recognition
By being named ALSC Faculty, ALSC Fellow, and ALSC Honorary Member, Dr. Kotlow is being recognized not only for his knowledge and clinical experience but also for his enduring contributions to education, mentorship, and the advancement of laser surgery in pediatric oral care.
