Ankyloglossia, Tethered Oral Tissues (TOTS), and Oral Restrictions are best identified, diagnosed and treated with a multidisciplinary team of providers. We will explore the important role of this team in growth & development, airway, feeding, and speech.

Stages of speech development will be presented with early identification of oral restrictions as they impact communication, language, speech, and feeding/swallowing impairments.

Orofacial myology disorders {OMDs) will be defined and cases presented that illustrate normal and abnormal oral-facial structures and the development of compensatory habits that affect speech, chewing, swallowing and breathing.

The benefits of Massage & Craniosacral Therapy is presented illustrating the effectiveness for newborns and babies with torticollis, tightness of oral structures, and the improvement of structural alignment for effective breastfeeding, growth & development. The importance of physiological system coordination through pregnancy, birth & delivery will be discussed.
