Dr. Steven Gloates Is Now a Fellow of the American Laser Study Club
We are delighted to recognize the achievements of Steven Gloates, DVM, who has earned the Fellow title from the American Laser Study Club (ALSC). This Fellow status is awarded to individuals who showcase a deep knowledge of laser surgery basics and safety measures, as confirmed by passing the ALSC and LIA (Laser Institute of America) tests. About Dr. Gloates
Dr. Gloates received his DVM, cum laude, from the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May 1997. He is a member of the Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society. He received honors for excellence in Small Animal Medicine. Since then, he has completed the following:
- Oral Surgery One & Dental Radiology – Advanced Dentistry Training
- Veterinary Ophthalmic Surgery Training
- Courses in Basic and Intermediate Abdominal Ultrasound
- FRANK – a Communication Workshop for Veterinarians
He has been an active part of the Veterinary Information Network, an internet community of veterinary specialists and general practitioners from around the world, since 1994.
He purchased Vetcetera in April 2008. His wife Debra is also a veterinarian but currently serves as mom to four beautiful children: Joshua, Rachel, Ruth and Rebekah. Dr. Steve’s four-legged kids include Sunny the yellow lab, Sheila the Goldendoodle, Ali the miniature donkey, four alpacas, one fish, his five cats: Larry, Catnip, Moe, Gizmo, and Zippy.
His hobbies and interests include spending time with his family, photography, reading, and listening to music of many different genres. He is an instructor for Pet Emergency Education. He teaches pet first aid and CPR certification.
Dr. Steve is honored to serve the clients, cats, and dogs of Schuylkill County and surrounding areas.
