Dr. Mindy Richtsmeier Is Now a Fellow of the American Laser Study Club

Congratulations to Mindy Richtsmeier, DDS, for achieving Fellow status at the American Laser Study Club (ALSC). About Dr. Richtsmeier

Dr. Richtsmeier received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa in 2007. Since then, she has completed hundreds of hours of study in all aspects of oral health and its relation to overall health. She is a certified and passionate provider of the Healthy Start system, focused on the early identification of improper jaw development in children, with early noninvasive intervention to redirect a proper course of development. She has certification in soft tissue laser dentistry from the International Center for Laser Education and is a certified provider of 6 Month Smiles clear braces and Clear Correct clear aligners.

Dr. Richtsmeier has a great interest in nutrition, breathing, and sleep, and their intimate relationship with oral structures and oral health. She is very knowledgeable in the treatment of TMJ issues, she has a holistic and case-dependent approach to sleep dentistry, and she absolutely loves to help patients achieve the smile that they are proud to show off. She has long enjoyed adult orthodontics, with a focus on both esthetics and dental arch enhancement for improved health and function.

Dr. Richtsmeier is a member of the American Academy of Physiological Medicine and Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, Spear Study Club, American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, and Des Moines District Dental Society.

In addition to her daily grind, Dr. Richtsmeier makes it a priority of serving those in need. She has participated in international mission trips, providing volunteer dental services in Jamaica and El Salvador. She actively volunteers with The Dental Lifeline Network, Donated Dental Services, Dentistry from the Heart, Iowa Mission of Mercy, and Everyone for Veterans. She also works closely with our local VA hospital to help local vets, who do not qualify for dental care through the VA, get the dental care they need.
